2) Your curls! What is your hair curl type? If you don’t know, please check out our reference page here.

Milan Brielle’s mom says that her curly hair type is wacky! She says that Milan Brielle has 2, maybe even 3 curly hair types. It seems that it is a little bit of 3c, 4a and 4b combined.

3. Who else in your family has curly hair? Check out our family tree here which is a fun and educational way to trace the legacy of your hair!

Milan Brielle’s mom’s family is full of curly heads! She is where Milan Brielle gets her beautiful curls from. Milan Brielle’s curls are just like hers but her mom says that Milan Brielle likes to tease her and tell her mom that hers are better!

4)  How do you like to wear your hair?

The way that Milan Brielle likes to wear her curly hair is down and naturally! Wild and free. She also loves her curly puffs. She enjoys being able to use colorful “knockers” or ballies when she wears styles.

5) How would you define your style?  (ie, are you a dress up girl, more casual, love to be fancy etc.  What is your favorite style for school, for dressing up, for each season, etc.

Milan Brielle is such a girly girl but she enjoys dressing comfortably! Her mom says that her favorite style just depends on her mood. She can go from a frilly dress to nice joggers in a heartbeat!

6) Hair care tips!  What are some hair care tips you can share for taking care of your curly hair? Best advice for kids with curly hair?

The best tip that Milan Brielle’s mom has to offer to kids with curly hair is add MOISTURE! Keep those curls hydrated as much as possible. Also comb from the bottom up when detangling your hair. It is such a lifesaver!

7) What do you wash and condition your hair with? How often?

Milan Brielle’s mom has 5 kids so it can vary by time. Every 2 to 4 weeks is the goal. We use Whole Blends Honey Treasures but if my scalp gets really dry we use Sulfur 8 Kids Medicated Shampoo. It really helps!

8) How often do you wash your hair and why?

Every 2 to 4 weeks is the goal! If time permits. Milan Brielle’s mom also does not want to wash the natural oils away.

9) Are you a morning hair washer or an evening washer, why?

Evening definitely! We are so not morning people

10) If you do your hair at night and sleep on it, what do you do in the morning? Any tips for making the style last overnight?

We use a satin bonnet. Milan Brielle is a wild sleeper at times but with her bonnet the style stays intact fairly well.

11) Has curly hair impacted your child and her self-image, please provide details on her “hair journey”.  Did she always love her hair or was it something that happened over time?

Some days Milan Brielle struggles with her wanting straight hair if she sees others with it.  She loves her curls most days, and every blue moon she wishes it was not so curly. It is a work in progress but Milan Brielle’s mom believes that she will learn to fully embrace and love her curls.

12) Have you read our Curlee Girlee book series?  If not get your copy by clicking here Our Curlee Girlee books were written to ensure that all curly girls belong to our Curlee Girlee family and learn to love and embrace their curls understanding that their hair is part of a greater legacy they share with those who came before them and will one day share with those who come after.
