About Curlee Girlee
I am Atara Twersky and I founded the Curly girl movement in connection with my Curlee Girlee book series, inspired by my young daughter and written for all girls in an effort to ensure they love their hair and all their unique features.
Curlee Girlee the book and the protagonist in my book series is a character like no other. Curlee Girlee represents every curly girl with a feisty, determined nature who will do anything to get where she believes she needs to go. She has many lessons to learn along the way but each of my books will find Curlee Girlee rising to new heights and taking on new challenges with her limitless imagination and her desire to succeed. Girls and boys of all hair textures and many varied ages, will love Curlee Girlee and find themselves relating to her struggles and success.
Hair can evoke many visceral emotions about how we view ourselves and how we believe others view us. I am hoping that together we can change the inner dialogue of young girls so that by the time they become young adults their naturally curly hair is just another feature they love and embrace.
